Cloud Backup Made Easy
#

Connect ILYS to your Dropbox account and save exports directly to the cloud. No downloading, no uploading—just one click.

Connecting Dropbox
#

  1. Open the Export modal (click the export icon in the Editor)
  2. Click Connect to Dropbox
  3. Sign in to your Dropbox account (if not already)
  4. Authorize ILYS to save files

You only need to connect once. ILYS remembers your authorization.

Saving to Dropbox
#

Once connected:

  1. Open the Export modal
  2. Click the Dropbox button
  3. Your file saves to your Dropbox automatically

A checkmark appears when the save is complete.

Where Files Are Saved
#

Exports go to a folder called ILYS in your Dropbox. The folder is created automatically the first time you save.

└── ILYS/
    ├── My Novel.txt
    ├── Daily Journal.txt
    └── ...

What You Can Save
#

  • Single sections
  • Full stories
  • All stories at once

Files are saved as TXT format when using Dropbox export.

Disconnecting Dropbox
#

If you want to disconnect:

  1. Go to your Dropbox account settings (on dropbox.com)
  2. Find “Connected apps”
  3. Remove ILYS

You can reconnect anytime by going through the connection process again.

Privacy & Security
#

  • ILYS can only access the ILYS folder in your Dropbox
  • We don’t read other files in your Dropbox
  • Your Dropbox credentials are stored by Dropbox, not ILYS
  • You can revoke access anytime

Tips
#

  • Save after major milestones — Finished a chapter? Save to Dropbox.
  • Use it as a backup — Your work is safe in two places
  • Share the Dropbox folder — Collaborators can see your exports
  • Combine with regular downloads — Belt and suspenders approach

One click, and your work is safely in the cloud.
