Using Statistics #
Track Progress #
- Compare word counts — See which sections are longest
- Check dates — Remember when you worked on something
Plan Your Writing #
- Identify short sections — Maybe they need more content
- Find neglected work — Old “last updated” dates show what’s been sitting
Celebrate Milestones #
- Hit 10,000 words? — Statistics let you know
- Year-old story? — See how long you’ve been working on it
Tips #
- Word count is just one metric — Quality matters more
- Use dates to jog memory — “What was I writing last Tuesday?”
- Don’t obsess — Statistics are for insight, not stress
Your writing tells a story. So do the numbers.
