You Did It! 🎉 #
When you hit your writing goal, ILYS celebrates with you. It’s a small thing, but it feels good—and research shows that positive reinforcement helps build habits.
What Happens #
The moment your word count or time goal is reached:
- Fireworks burst across your screen
- The progress bar fills completely
- You smile (hopefully)
You can keep writing after the celebration—the goal is just a milestone, not a stop sign.
Celebration Types #
ILYS has several celebration styles:
- Fireworks Burst — Classic, colorful explosions
- Confetti Stars — Sparkling stars rain down
- Floating Hearts — For the romantics
- Vector Tunnel — A mesmerizing visual journey
The celebration type may vary—it’s a little surprise each time.
Turning Celebrations On or Off #
Click the Celebrate Goal icon in your Writing Space toolbar to toggle celebrations.
- On — Celebrate when you hit your goal
- Off — A quieter experience (the progress bar still fills)
Why Celebrate? #
- Dopamine boost — Your brain likes rewards
- Habit formation — Celebrating small wins makes you want to write again
- It’s fun — Writing should feel good, not like a chore
No Goal, No Fireworks #
Celebrations only happen when you set a goal. If you’re writing freely without a target, you won’t see fireworks—but you can still feel proud of whatever you wrote.
Tips #
- Set achievable goals — More celebrations = more motivation
- Keep celebrations on at first — Let yourself enjoy the reward
- Share the moment — Tell someone you hit your goal. They’ll be happy for you.
Every goal you hit is a win. Celebrate it.
