Keep the Momentum Going
#

Don’t Stop Mode is like having a gentle writing coach over your shoulder. When you pause for more than 7 seconds, ILYS nudges you to keep going.

It’s not about pressure—it’s about momentum. Sometimes all you need is a little reminder that your fingers should be moving.

How to Turn It On
#

Click the Don’t Stop icon in your Writing Space toolbar. A small indicator shows it’s active.

Click again to turn it off whenever you want.

What Happens When You Pause
#

After 7 seconds without typing:

  1. Visual nudge — The screen gently reminds you to keep writing
  2. Audio nudge (optional) — If the buzzer is on, you’ll hear a sound too

The nudge goes away as soon as you start typing again.

Why 7 Seconds?
#

Seven seconds is long enough to think, but short enough to catch you before you drift into distraction. It’s the sweet spot between “give me a moment” and “I forgot I was writing.”

Pairing with Other Features
#

Don’t Stop Mode works great with:

  • Privacy Mode — You can’t see your words AND you can’t stop. Pure flow.
  • Buzzer on — Audio + visual nudges for maximum accountability
  • Time goals — Stay productive for the full duration

When to Use It
#

  • Overcoming procrastination — No time to stare at the screen
  • Speed writing challenges — Keep your fingers flying
  • Building a writing habit — Train yourself to write continuously
  • When you’re easily distracted — The nudge brings you back

When to Skip It
#

  • Deep thinking sessions — Sometimes you need to pause and reflect
  • Emotional writing — If you need breaks to process, that’s okay
  • When it stresses you out — Not everyone loves being nudged. That’s fine.

Tips
#

  • Start with it off until you’re comfortable with the Writing Space
  • Combine it with small goals — 100 words with Don’t Stop Mode is very achievable
  • Use it as training wheels — Eventually you might not need the nudges
  • Don’t fight it — If it nudges you, type something, even “I don’t know what to write”

The goal isn’t perfect writing. The goal is continuous writing. Everything else comes later.
